Abie Quesenberry passed away on September 21, 2018, at Fairfax Hospital, in Fairfax, Virginia. He was surrounded by family when he passed.
Abie was born on April 11, 1939, in Lucketts, Virginia, one of nine children of the late William Scott and Rosa Quesenberry. He lived his entire life in Lucketts, where he married his wife of 60 years, Nancy Athey-Quesenberry. He grew up on a large farm and worked at Cardinal Foods in Leesburg until it closed in the 1960's. He then served as the Chief of Maintenance during a long tenure at Loudoun Water and was the Caretaker of the Camp Potomac Woods Girl Scout Camp in Lucketts for 59 years. Abie was strong in his faith, and deeply loved his family and friends. He lived a full life, working long and hard until he retired in 2016.
Abie is survived by his wife Nancy Quesenberry, of Leesburg, his son Darrell Quesenberry and his wife Cindy Quesenberry of Leesburg, and his grandson Brent Quesenberry, a student at Virginia Tech. He is also survived by his brother Junior Scott Quesenberry of Lucketts, Edna Frye, also of Lucketts, and Maggie Lorraine Loy of Clarksburg, Maryland. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Road, NE, Leesburg, Virginia 20176. A service will be held on Friday, September 28, 2018 starting at 1:00 pm at Colonial Funeral Home. Burial to follow the service in Union Cemetery, Leesburg, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
