Agnar (Augie) Fjordholm was born and raised in Voss, Norway. He moved to the States in 1968.
He is survived by Debbie, his wife of 46 years, their son, Bjorn, and their grandson, Kyle. He is predeceased by his brother Jarle, and survived by his sister, Lill and brother-in-law, Kjell. He is
survived by nieces Marie, Anne, Tove, Trine and Linn Jeanette and nephews Svein Atle and Kjell Rune.
His early years were challenged with the devastation and scars suffered in Voss under German occupation during WWII. He was quite resourceful with some of the war items left behind. He
once found an old bombshell which he and his friends used as a sled on the snowy slopes near the family home. In his teen years he was a member of the Norwegian National Gymnastics team and
also taught skiing at Voss Ski School.
His first years in the US were spent teaching skiing in Four Lakes and then in Breckenridge where he became the Assistant Ski School Director. Since his true love was flying, he spent the rest of his career flying with various airlines and to many destinations, including a couple flights around the world. He moved into management in the roles of training and safety – eventually becoming Director of Operations. After retiring from the airlines, he continued to ferry airplanes along with flight instruction in airplane simulators and other aircraft types.
In his spare time he was into ski racing, competing on the USSA Masters Circuit. In the summers, you could find him on the bike path – always trying to beat his previous record time. Augie enjoyed traveling with family and visiting family. He loved to explore new destinations with every trip.
Augie will be dearly missed by those who were blessed to have known and loved him. But as long as there is a memory, he will continue to live on in their hearts.
A private memorial service is planned.
