"Agnes Martha Taylor (nee Elmerick), 91, passed away on May 2, 2026. Born on February 4, 1935, as the youngest of ten children in Suffield, Ohio, to the late Henry and Dora (Griggy) Elmerick, she was a deeply devout, patriotic, and resilient woman who faced life's hardest challenges with quiet faith and determination. She had a gift for conversation and could talk warmly with anyone she met, and when not visiting with friends and family, she enjoyed the outdoors, where she did wondrous things with flowers. A lifelong sports lover, she played softball as a young woman and later could often be found watching tennis, golf, and college football. She was formerly a member of St. Helen Catholic Church in Georgetown, TX, and Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Jarrell, TX.
Agnes was preceded in death by her son, Jeff, and by her husband of 61 years, Henry. Also preceding her in death were granddaughter Leslie Zolbe; sisters and their spouses: Lucille and Leon Schaefer, Beatrice and Ralph Jordan, Dolores and Leonard Pastore; brothers and their spouses: Robert and Marie Elmerick, John and Mary Elmerick, Sylvan Elmerick, Francis Elmerick; infant brother, Richard; and brother-in-law William Horning. Her survivors include daughter Kathleen (Matthew) Zolbe and son Scott Taylor; grandsons Taylor (Jessie) and Christian Zolbe; a great-granddaughter; sister-in-law Linda Elmerick; and late husband's sister Ruth Reid and husband William. Agnes was also survived by her sister Ruth Horning, who passed away shortly afterwards.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on May 11th at 10 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church (101 Oakcrest Manor Dr NE Leesburg, VA).
Burial will take place on May 14th at 11:30 a.m. followed by a Memorial Mass at noon at Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Corn Hill (8626 FM 1105 Jarrell, TX). In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Blood Cancer United or Holy Trinity Catholic Church."
