On Monday, June 20th, 2016, Augustin R. Echeandia passed away. Augie was incredibly unique, with intellect, charisma, and heart unlike any other. Augie's contagious laugh and spectacular spirit will be greatly missed. This tragedy has deeply impacted his family, friends, and loved ones.
Augie was born on December 23, 1991 in the Hampton Roads area. Eventually, the Echeandia family moved to Leesburg, VA, where Augie graduated from Loudoun County High School in 2010. Augie was one who had a gift, one that could make those around him be filled with uncontrollable laughter in one moment and immense contemplation in another. In any setting he was an individual who brought forth an unmatched wit juxtaposed with a firm commitment to well-developed values. He was a master of narrative, regularly presenting engaging anecdotes from his life and one-of-a-kind hypotheticals (often with a comedic bent) that would make any in his presence at ease. On top of all of this, he was a friend that anyone could confide in-an individual that would not only understand, but also accept a person to their very core. Though he was often reserved and private upon first meetings, Augie's great confidence and unique mannerisms could quickly inspire loyal friendships. In his free time, Augie enjoyed everything from cinema, to cards, to hitting the gym with his best friends. Augie also had a deep appreciation for experiencing the outdoors; many of his fondest memories involved long talks set to nature's rhythm. His musical palette stretched from classic rock to modern hip hop. He was well-versed in history and was looking forward to being engaged in the social sciences, as well a new place to call home in Richmond, VA.
A little over a week ago, Augie was feeling slightly ill. Within days he had fallen into a coma, and on Sunday evening he was taken off of life support. Augie's death was sudden, unexpected, and heartbreaking to all that knew him. He is survived by his mother and father, Augustin and Celsa Echeandia, and two siblings, Tommy and Tatiana Echeandia.
His friends have come together to create a fundraiser, in efforts to help his family while they struggle through this immeasurable loss. Every dollar helps, and every contribution is greatly appreciated. We thank you for your aid, generosity, and prayers and thoughts for the Echeandia family. https://www.gofundme.com/AugieEcheandia
