Mrs. Aline Bowman Poplin, age 87, formerly of Winston Salem, NC, passed away Monday, January 24, 2011 at Birmingham Green Nursing Facility. Mrs. Poplin was born May 14, 1923 and was the daughter of the late James Stephen Bowman and Mittie McNeely Bowman, of Marion, NC. She was a member of South Fork Baptist Church in Winston Salem.

She is survived by her daughter Judy Kerns and husband David of Leesburg, VA., Sister-in-law Betty Bowman, nieces and nephews, Lee Bowman and wife Donna of Swannanoa, NC., Ann James and husband Dwight of Marion, NC., Jean Finley and husband Randy of Marion, NC., Jo Powell of Johnson City, TN., Sam Bowman, Jr., of Marion, NC., cousins, Betty Miller of Hampton, VA., and Marjorie Miller of Covina, CA.

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Poplin and brother Sammy Bowman.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals-on-Wheels Program, 2895 Shorefair Drive, Winston Salem, NC 27199-3855.
