We mourn the loss but celebrate the life of Andrea "Andi" Zentz. Andrea was an award winning journalist who wrote many featured articles for a number of newspapers and magazines. Among her numerous and prestigious awards are: Associated Press Award, Society of Professional Journalists, MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), American Press Institute, Virginia Press Association, Burlington Free Press Award and others. Her writings were insightful, topical and current. What came through to the reader is her compassion and empathy for those who had experienced injustice in life. She had the ability to "talk" to the reader in a way that captured their attention. Although her writing career was very important to her it did not define her life. Her devotion to her daughters, parents, grandchildren and GOD consumed her life. She loved the ocean and beach, as well as, nature and conservation issues. She passed from pancreatic cancer and her short life will be filled with many legacies that her family and friends will carry with them.
Born in Vermont, she was the daughter of parents Dale and Anita (Locklyn) Zentz. Survived by her daughters Penny L. Kelley and Desirae D. Zentz ; her 3 grandchildren and brothers Randy and Steve Zentz.
