IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Andrew Jay
Jenson
September 11, 1968 – June 29, 2025
With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to Andrew Jay Jenson, who passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the age of 56.
To know Andy was to experience a world of laughter, wisdom, and the joy of a well-played song. His quick wit could brighten even the heaviest day and his thoughtful perspective left every conversation richer than before. With a guitar, bass, or nearly any instrument in his hands, Andy was an artistic spirit who spoke the language of music - filling rooms, hearts, and memories with his vibrant spirit.
Andy was more than a friend; he was family. Fiercely loyal and endlessly generous, he built bonds that lasted decades, rooted in long talks, laughter, and unforgettable adventures. For those who loved him, his presence was a constant source of comfort, reassurance, and joy. His absence leaves a silence we cannot fill, but his influence and the memories we have of him will continue to echo in all of us.
The words of Juan Ramón Jiménez in the poem, 'I Am Not I', reflect Andy's enduring spirit - the deeper self that forgives, endures, and remains long after we are gone. That is the Andy who still walks beside us: in every laugh he sparked in us, in the amazing music he played, and in the love he gave so freely to all.
Andy is survived by his sister, Gail Suttles, his nephew, Christian Oswald, and his niece, Marissa Villalobos, as well as countless friends and family whose lives were forever enriched by his humor, wisdom, and music.
His life was celebrated with gatherings in Tulsa, Oklahoma (August 9, 2025) and in Leesburg, Virginia (August 22, 2025), where friends and family honored him with stories, laughter, and music - exactly as Andy would have wanted.
Andy was cremated and his ashes were shared with loved ones. His final resting place will be along the shores of Virginia Beach, where the waves will carry his spirit and the song of his soul will forever mingle with the wind and sea.
Though the final note has been played, Andy's melody will live on in every heart he touched.

I Am Not I
I am not I.
I am this one
walking beside me whom I do not see,
whom at times I manage to visit,
and whom at other times I forget;
the one who remains silent while I talk,
the one who forgives, sweet, when I hate,
the one who walks where I am not,
the one who will remain standing when I die.
