Obituary

Andres Rafael-Quintana Garcia, lovingly known as Andy, passed away on September 16, 2016. Andy is survived by his Mother, Sister, Father, Step-Father, Grandmas, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and frankly a list too long to write of so many family members and friends of every age, color, and creed.

A recent graduate of Loudoun County High School; Andy was known among his high school class to be a funny, smart, witty, avid gamer, and a laid-back kind of guy who accepted people as they were.

Although born as a Summer baby Andy was the easiest baby ever; he didn't cry a lot, he ate well, and was a joy. As a young boy Andy was a little tornado of energy and wit.; ready to laugh, play or challenge a slow grown-up mind with what he called his 'muscle mind'. Too, Andy had always been known to be a happy, fun, quick to smile boy, a good-little-helper, and chicken nugget lover from here to the Dominican Republic.

A Lego lover from way back, he still has all of his Legos neatly organized by concept, you know alien, human, dinosaur, etc.; there really wasn't any idea too big or too small that couldn't be created with the right Lego and two little hands.
Was there ever been a train a boy didn't love? Not as far as Andy was concerned; from a little-tike in his Conductor hat, replete with appropriate Conductor pins-of-honor, Andy loved all trains large and small. A long day at a model-train show, rides on historical steam trains, or a short jaunt on the Metro were all equally worthwhile marvels.

Although, Andy could not be bothered by the silly business of paper-pushing, a.k.a. high school, he was an avid historian. There wasn't a historical event he didn't find fascinating in its concepts to include the daily life of people high and low. Some of his favorite historical moments included the French Revolution and the entire Roman Era.

Andy's hopes for the future included buying a car at the end of the year, attending Ann Arundel Community College in January and maybe a quick side trip to Thailand in December with his sister Gigi; you know the last hurray before college level paper-pushing began.

Andy did not fail to practice the lost art of a gentleman; he had impeccable table manners, every woman who fed him was the 'greatest cook ever' and he opened doors for 2 Moms, 3 Sisters, 2 grandmas, 1 great-grandma, and 5 Aunts along with any accompanying female entourages.

Andy had a tremendous respect for his father, Francis. He recently shared how happy he was to work at the same place with his Dad. He was proud that all his co-workers respected him and had great things to say. Andy also thought it was kind of cool to have it a bit easier with his Dad backing him up at Target.

Andy and his mother recently discovered the joy of live theater. Andy was amazed that live theater, without computer generated anything, could so thoroughly capture one's mind-body-and soul, with only the power of voice. This fall we planned to see the Book of Mormon.

Growing up Andy's favorite shows included Zaboomafoo, Calio, Thomas the Train, Arthur, Game of Thrones, Portlandia, and anything to do with Halo.

Although it cannot be said that Andy leaves behind a wife or the 5-6 children he wanted, what he does leave behind are why's that will never be answered, jokes without his laughter, arms that long to embrace him, and a lot of uneaten pizza, chocolate-chip cookies, and of course Mountain Dew.

The history of this family cannot be told without Andy nor will our future unfold without him.
Andy you will forever be the greatest love of so very many.
