Anita Zentz passed away at age 81 in Sterling, VA on July 27th, 2011 after an extended illness. Born on Aug 11th, 1929, to Hazel Libby and Leo J. Locklin of Wheelock, VT. Anita married Dale Zentz on September 11, 1950. She was an LPN and also traveled some with Dale throughout his naval career. Here, home was always rutted in VT. In later years she worked at the Pine Knoll Nursing Home under the direction of Margie Brown. She was very active in local affairs including many community suppers. She frequently enjoyed quilting and rug hooking, as a member of the community club. She was a member of the fireman auxiliary and hosted many blood drives. She worked on the bicentennial committee and as town clerk in Wheelock, VT. She was also a justice of the peace. She at one time ran a booth at Caledonia County Fair. All she endured she enjoyed very much. She will always be remembered as a kind, caring person and enjoyed helping others! She loved her home, family and friends and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her. She is survived by her husband Dale W. Zentz, her sons Randy and his wife Angie and two children, Cierra and James; also her son Steve Zentz; Elody's children Rhonda, Donna, Jennifer, and Jimmy; Mavis's children Michael Smith and Robert Smith (Bobby); Grandson Danny and daughter Allison Zentz; Granddaughters Penny and husband Will Kelley and their two children Elijah and Lily Kelley; Desirae Zentz and son Noah. All from Sterling, VA. Her sisters Alice L. Bean, Irene Smith and Carol Bowles of Lyndonville, VT; one brother, Dwayne (Bucky) Locklin of St. Johnsburry, VT and many nieces and nephews and a special friend Janet Smith of Wheelock. She was preceded in death by an elder sister, Mavis Smith, Elody Fox, Elaine Petty, her brothers Jimmy Libby and Robert Jones, son, Gary Zentz in 2001 and most recently her daughter, Andrea Zentz on May 6th, 2011. Funeral arrangements are by The Colonial Funeral Home in Leesburg, VA and Gibbords Funeral Home in Lyndonville, VT. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011, 11a.m. at the Sulfur Springs Cemetery in Wheelock, VT.
