Ann Carolyn Bushnell, 90, of Leesburg, Virginia, passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of May, 6, 2022.
Ann was born in Scotch Plains, New Jersey April 8, 1932 to John and Anne Morel. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 and 1/2 years, John Alden Bushnell , her parents and siblings John Morel, Mary Donatelli, Carol Caffrey and Gerald Morel and one nephew, Joseph Donatelli.
Ann's Catholic faith was very important to her as was her role as the wife of a member of the Foreign Service (33 years). She served alongside her husband in Columbia, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Switzerland, Panama, Argentina and Washington D.C. She served on many boards and offices through the years. Ann spoke Spanish and French fluently and served as an ESL teacher for many years. She enjoyed taking her eight grandchildren on many adventures traveling the globe.
She is survived by her three sons; John Morel ( Elizabeth Doyle) Timothy Cahill ( Eileen Wilson) , Mark Alden Bushnell and eight grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 17 nieces and nephews.
There will be a wake on Wednesday May 11, from 6-8PM at Colonial Funeral Home in Leesburg VA, and a funeral mass on Thursday at 10:30am at St Theresa's Catholic Church in Ashburn, VA.
