IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anna Mae
Grimes
July 27, 1934 – January 23, 2024
The family of Anna Grimes announces her peaceful passing on January 23, 2024, at the age of 89. Born on July 27, 1934, Anna will live on forever in our hearts as a faithful servant to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She lived a simple yet eternally rich life as a wise and loving wife, mother and grandmother, and was fiercely independent, funny, and beautiful inside and out. Anna was hard working into her 80's, first as lab tech, then part-time for Loudoun County Public Schools, fully retiring after 15 years of service there. She led Bible study and ministered the love of Christ at her local nursing home for decades.
Anna is predeceased by her husband of 38 years who passed in 1996, and two sons (Danny Kimble and Sidney Grimes), one grandchild (Madison Grimes), and her beloved dog, Prissy. She is survived by 5 children (Carol Breen of WV, Wayne Kimble of WV, Gail and Jeff Fletcher of VA, Jonell Grimes of SC, and Darin and Tammy Grimes of NC); 11 grandchildren (Michelle Sierzega, Chandi Gilleran, Jennifer Watkins, Julia Grimes, Matthew Grimes, Sarah Krueger, T.J. Fletcher, Joshua Grimes, Abigail Palacios, Tracy Kimble, and Jennifer Harper), 20 great grandchildren (Justin Smith, Ashlynn Scarborough, Blake Gilleran, Callista and Chloe Watkins, Aaron and Brianna Nylin, Ava Turner, Tessa and Beau Kimble, Rylee, Madelyn, Luke, Jake and Ava Harper, Aidan and Caleb Krueger, Cruz and Connor Palacios, and Emersyn Grimes); 1 great great grandchild (Hayden McDaniels); a sister, Mary Lee Ours, and countless friends, dear caregivers and faithful visitors.
A memorial service to honor Anna's life will take place on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg, 201 Edwards Ferry Road NE, Leesburg, VA 20176. The viewing will begin at 11AM, with a homecoming service commencing at 12:00 (noon), with Rev. Raymond Windsor officiating. A brief graveside service will follow at Hillsboro, VA 20132.
Anna's grandsons (T.J. Fletcher, Joshua Grimes, Randy Palacios and Chris Krueger) will be pallbearers.
The family deeply appreciates every gesture of love (cards, flowers, hugs) during this difficult time. You may also make a memorial donation in her name to her church, The Original Pentecostals, P.O. Box 2923 Leesburg, VA 20177
