Anne C. Duncan

Elizabeth Anne Church Duncan, 91, died peacefully September 21, 2026, at her Leesburg, Virginia, home with her family by her side.

Born June 7, 1935, in Ashburn to Beatrice Church Thayer and John Newal Church, Anne graduated from Leesburg High School in 1953 and went on to become a telephone operator. She married in 1954 and went on to have two daughters.

She was an avid church volunteer and Sunday School teacher first at Leesburg Baptist Church then Crossroads Baptist Church. Through the years, she worked part time at Muse and Reed Furniture Store as a bookkeeper and at Colonial Funeral Home as a receptionist.

Anne is survived by her daughter Mary and son-in-law William Pearman, her half sister Shirley (Dale) Poland and half brother Richard (Becky) Thayer. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward L. Duncan, her daughter Virginia Osteen, and her half-sister Sally Willingham.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
