IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Antons
Matisans
November 18, 1934 – May 13, 2018
On May 13, 2018, Antons "Tony" Matisans, of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, peacefully left this earth to be with Jesus, his Lord and Savior, in Heaven. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Matisans Linden and her husband, William, of Ashburn, Virginia, and his two grandchildren, Hannah Grace and Jacob, as well as his nephew Steven and his wife, Jennifer, and great nephews Allan (Marie) and Mason. He is also survived by his former spouses, Clare Conroy Reynolds and Shirley Kissinger Matisans. He is predeceased by his parents, Jezups and Vincentine Matisans, as well as his siblings, Donald Matisans, John Matisans and Eleonora Matisans, and his great nephew Steven.
Tony was born in Latvia on November 18, 1934, where he lived with his parents and three siblings until they were forced to flee during World War II. After spending time in a Displaced Persons Camp in Germany, the family came to the United States. They eventually settled in Arlington, Virginia, where Tony went to school and graduated from Washington-Lee High School. Tony worked as an Electronics Engineer until he retired from Raytheon (formerly Melpar). He loved tinkering with electronics but more than that his real passion was the great outdoors. Tony loved fishing, canoeing, and walking in the woods. He cherished time spent with his family. After retiring, Tony moved to Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, to the home he'd always dreamed of having in the woods. He loved this place where he could watch the deer and wild turkeys, and was surrounded by nature.
