Mrs. Arline G. Kasen, age 94, of Leesburg, Virginia died Thursday, March 9 ^th, , 2023 surrounded by family.

Born on August 16 ^th , 1928 in The Bronx, New York, Arline was the daughter of the late Elmer and Anna Gertenbach. Arline was married on August 16, 1959 to Michael Kasen.

Arline is survived by her three children, Michele Kasen and her boyfriend Jeff, Michael Kasen and his wife Olga, and Kathleen Di Girolamo and her husband Dave, as well as three grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, and Zachary Di Girolamo. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Arline was predeceased by her husband, Michael; her parents, Elmer and Anna Gertenbach; and her sister, Ursula Cuggy and Ursula's husband, George. Also, she was preceded in death by her in-laws Peter and Katherina Bukovich Kasenchak, George and Vera Kasen, Helen and Samuel Sawka, and Mary and Leonard Bailey.

Arline graduated from Hunter College in New York, NY with a degree in journalism. After graduation she worked as a telephone operator for New York Telephone Company. She met and married Michael Kasen and they moved to Virginia where they raised their children and built their home in Great Falls, Virginia. Arline worked as a kindergarten teacher's aide at Great Falls Elementary until she retired. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Arline loved to entertain and travel. In retirement she moved to New Smyrna Beach, Florida where she volunteered for many organizations, keeping the books for Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in New Smyrna Beach, preparing meals for the Council on Aging of Volusia County Meals on Wheels program, and assisting in construction of houses for Habitat for Humanity.

Family will receive friends at the Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg, 201 Edwards Ferry Road NE, Leesburg, Virginia on Friday, March 17 ^th , 2023 from 6-8pm.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 21370 St. Theresa Lane, Ashburn, Virginia on Saturday, March 18 ^th , 2023 at 10:30am.

Interment will follow the mass at Fairfax Memorial Park, 9900 Braddock Road, Fairfax, Virginia.
