Arnold Charles Wallin, 68, passed away at his residence in Centreville, VA with his family by his side on Tuesday, December 7, 2010.
He was the son of the late Arnold J. and Elizabeth Bruns Wallin. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Sudie Heflin Wallin; one son, Anthony (Tony) and his wife, Debbie, of Miramar, FL; three grandchildren, Lauren, Alexandra and Anthony of Miramar, FL; his sister-in-law, Judy, and husband, Bob Lucas, of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; and his brother, Raymond Wallin and his wife, Georgia, of Needles, CA. In addition, he is survived by very special friends Robert and Mirna Couto of Miami, FL and Linda Ryan of Springfield, VA.
Arnold graduated from Long Beach High School and worked at the family-owned butcher shop business in Long Beach, CA. He then served in the U.S. Army at Arlington Hall Station, Arlington, VA. After being discharged from the service, he worked at Dominion Auto Parts store in Arlington, VA and Dolly Madison Exxon in McLean, VA. In 1963 he was hired by S.M. Farouq Massoud at M&S Auto Service in Arlington and Falls Church, VA and worked as an automobile mechanic and shop foreman for over 35 years.
After retiring, he enjoyed traveling, visiting with his family, and going to NASCAR races with Tony.
Family and friends are invited to an hour of visitation and sharing on Saturday, December 11, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd, NE, Leesburg, VA 20176. A funeral service will directly follow at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow the service in Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg, WV.
