Obituary

Arthur Hildt Peacock, age 85, of Leesburg died August 4, 2009 at home. He had cancer. He built and operated an Amoco Service Station at Routes 9 and 662 for 10 years. He returned to Southern States Petroleum Service in Leesburg where he had previously been employed and retired after 30 years of combined service. He was a life long resident of Loudoun County. He served as a Deacon and Treasurer of the Catoctin Presbyterian Church in Waterford where he was a member.

Mr. Peacock was born June 2, 1924 in Loudoun County to the late Raymond and Lola Grubb Peacock. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mae Solomon Peacock of Leesburg; two sons, Charles Raymond Peacock of Venice, Florida and wife Mary, Arthur Carroll Peacock of Hamilton and wife Nancy; two granddaughters, Heather Rae Keyser of Centreville, and Stevie Diane Peacock of Venice, Florida.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday, August 6, 2009 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd. NE, Leesburg, VA 20176. Services are at Colonial Funeral Home on Friday, August 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with burial following in Union Cemetery in Leesburg. Memorial may be sent to Catoctin Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 195, Waterford, VA 20197.
