Audrey Louise Minor, 81, of Winchester, Virginia, died Saturday, September 13th at Hilltop House, her home for the past five years.
Audrey was born March 7, 1927 in Waterford, Virginia, the daughter of Stanley and Janie McGaha.
She married Bernard L. Minor in Leesburg, Virginia on April 14, 1945.
Audrey was employed with the former C&P Telephone Company for 34 years. She was a member of the Old Dominion Chapter of the Telephone Pioneers of America where she proudly served on many community service committees.
Audrey was a member of Kernstown United Methodist Church for many years serving on the Worship Committee and Finance Committee.
An excellent seamstress, she also enjoyed crocheting and knitting and working in her yard.
Surviving are her daughter, Joyce Dube' and husband John of Stephens City; daughter, Kathryn Henry of Winchester; son David L. Minor also of Winchester; sister Jane Ellis of Winchester, VA; brothers Willard McGaha of Lovettsville, VA; Edward McGaha of Pearl River, LA; Franklin McGaha of Purcellville, VA; seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Her husband preceded her in death.
A visitation will take place at Colonial Funeral Home in Leesburg, VA on Thursday, September 18, 2008 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A service will be held on Friday, September 19, 2008 starting at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Union Cemetery, Leesburg, VA following the service.
In lieu of flowers the family would like to suggest memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Alzheimer's Respite Center, 751 Miller Drive SE, Suite D2, Leesburg, VA 20175 or the Multiple Sclerosis Society National Capital Chapter, Washington, DC 20006.
