Barbara Ann Marshall, 73, passed away January 4, 2020.   She was born in Pearisburg, Virginia, to Marvin and Frances Ratcliff.

For most of Barbara's life, she lived in Northern Virginia, where she met and married the love of her life, Taylor Marshall, Jr., who preceded her in death in 2008.

Barbara was known to be a great golfer – helping her and her husband to win many a 'husband/wife' golf tournament; known to work around her yard and swimming pool; and known to be a prolific and savvy shopper.

Barbara had spent most of her time in Northern Virginia, but also would travel to her former homes in West Palm Beach, Florida and Deep Creek Lake, Maryland.

She is survived by her sister, Nancy Davidson, and brother Robert Ratcliff and wife Betty Ratcliff and preceded by her sister, Sue Hatcher.  Barbara is also survived by her nieces Tammy Johnson, Deana Dutterer, Cindy Reney, Pam Smith and Amy Mendez; and nephew Greg Cantrell.

To honor Barbara and to celebrate her life, a service will be held on Wednesday, January 8 at 12:00 (noon) at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Road, NE, Leesburg, VA 20176.  Interment will follow at a later date at Frostburg Memorial Park, in Frostburg, Maryland.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the staff at Blue Ridge Hospice and to I-Care and its wonderful nurse Jemila for their loving care of Barbara.
