Barbara Jean (Meckel) Martin, 58, of Leesburg, VA passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2017. Barbara was born on January 10, 1959 in Morristown, NJ to Fred Meckel and Mary Frances (Ward) Meckel.

Throughout her life, Barbara was a prolific reader of novels and Bible scriptures. She had many long-time friends who she stayed in frequent contact with throughout her life. Aside from spending time with family and friends, she really enjoyed the time with all animals, especially her labs and cats. She had a zest for life and made many friends easily.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Robert Martin, Jr. of Leesburg, VA  along with her cousins Robert Buczek and Michael Buczek as well as many brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.

She had a wonderful memorial service celebrating her life at Colonial Funeral Home on July 19 that was well attended by the many friends and family. Barb wished that in lieu of flowers or donations, a donation be made to any local animal shelter.
