IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara Tait
Taylor
October 30, 1939 – September 5, 2025
Barbara Tait Taylor, beloved mother and friend, passed away peacefully on September 5 at the age of 85.
Born on October 30, 1939 in Washington, D.C., she grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland and was the daughter of Joseph Xavier Tait and Barbara Ellen McLean. After completing her education at Towson State, Barbara began her career as an elementary school teacher.
She married Bruce Taylor in 1962 and together they raised their two daughters, Alyson Taylor Linville and Jennifer McLean Taylor, in Annandale, Virginia. Barbara was active in her community and was an accomplished artist. She had an amazing green thumb and beautiful voice where she participated in choral groups and musical theater. She also loved to travel to exotic places like the Amazon and Tahiti.
She retired after a long career at SAIC as a data analyst to take care of her grandchildren.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents, husband Bruce Taylor, and brothers Michael and Anthony Tait. Barbara is survived by her daughters, Alyson Taylor Linville (m. Edwin Linville) and Jennifer McLean Taylor (Eric Waldman), as well as her sister, Deborah Tait, her twin brothers, Joe and Tom Tait, and her grandchildren Ian and Max Linville.
A celebration of life will be held next spring in Leesburg, Virginia on a date to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to one of her favorite charities, Doctors Without Borders or the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
