Bertha Ellen Majkut

age 88, a beloved mother with a genuine zest for life, courage, and quick wit passed away at her home in Sterling, VA with family by her side on April 27, 2020. She was born on August 12, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA where she resided until she retired to Blakeslee, PA with her beloved husband Stanley. Upon Stanley's death in 2007 Bert moved to VA to reside with her daughter, Donna. She was preceded in death by her beloved Pekingese "Puppy" who was her faithful companion until she passed in 2018. When Bert traveled you would find Puppy by her side!

She was the wife of the late Stanley Majkut, her husband of 46 years. Surviving is her daughter, Donna Weeden of Sterling, VA and Bruce "Buzzy" Miller (Heidi Cartagena), Las Vegas, NV. Bert also leaves behind daughters whom adopted and cared for her, Jean Soderquist, Sherry Barber, and Donna Ottinger. She leaves behind two sisters, Audrey Lupton and Linda Walker. Bert was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. She had one god daughter (Amy), numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Bert spent her career as an inspector at American Can Co. for 45 years before retirement. Her greatest joy was spending time with those she loved and who returned that love in abundance which included family and neighbors. Bert will forever live on in our hearts.

A memorial service will be held in celebration of her life in August 2020.
