Bette "Smoothie" Ellen Hamilton passed away the morning of March 11, 2020, after a hard-fought, 13 year battle with cancer.  She was born on February 20, 1942, in Rochester, New York. At a young age, Bette's family moved to Anaheim California where she eventually met her love, Walt Hamilton, on a blind date.  Together the two of them worked together in the family business while raising two girls.

In her free time Bette enjoyed singing in the church choir, traveling the world with Walt spreading the good news of Jesus, knitting sweaters that are worn by children in Africa, Mentoring young moms, helping women new to the DC area get connected, spending time with her neighbors playing the game Mexican Train, connecting with her Teammates Community at McLean Bible Church, and getting loved on by her granddaughter, Sydney.

Bette is survived by her only and most favorite husband of 55 years, Walt, her favorite oldest daughter Edith Hamilton, her favorite youngest daughter Dorie Howell, her favorite Son in Law Larry Howell and her most favorite and beloved granddaughter Sydney Howell.
