Bette Davis Zucker went home to be with the Lord on Saturday April 28, 2012. She was born November 7, 1941 in Jersey City, NJ to the late Herbert Davis and Bessie Steinmetz Davis. Bette was preceded in death by her brother Gilbert, her beloved husband Morris "Mickey " Zucker and her dearest cousins Ruth Ace and June Steinberger.
Bette loved children and was a devoted reading specialist for 42 years in the North Bergen, New Jersey public school system until she retired in 2007. She was passionately involved in the Democratic Party for many years and was on various committees during that time.
Bette enjoyed travelling including trips to Mississippi with summer beach weekends and to Virginia to share holidays with her family.
Bette lived in New Jersey until recently, when she moved to Virginia to be close to her cousins Gary and Nicole Ace of Ashburn.
Personally, Bette was known to be greatly entertaining, funny and witty. Her friends and family will always remember her keen sense of style, curious mind and generous heart.
She will be deeply missed by her extended step family and numerous cousins and close friends.
The family wishes to sincerely thank the staff at Sunrise in Sterling, VA and Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, Virginia for their support and caring for Bette.
Memorial services will be held on May 26th at 3 p.m. at St. Mathew's Episcopal Church, 201 East Frederic Drive, Sterling, Va. 20164
Burial will take place on June 2nd in Paramus, NJ.
