Betty Louise Agamy passed away at 2:20 a.m. on Monday, January 17, 2011 at Loudoun Hospital Center with her four "girls" at her side from renal failure. She was born on October 18, 1925 in Cambria, Illinois, the only child of Paul C. and Eunice Howell. She met the love of her life in the early 1950's, George Agamy, never leaving his side for more than 25 years until his passing in 1981. She is survived by her daughters, Debi Miller (Ken), Cheryl Carter (Joe), Lisa Romano (Chris) and Janet Vetter; seven grandchildren, Heather Miller, Jackie Trevor (D.J.), Nicholas Vetter, Monica Vetter, Nicole Masella, Alex Romano, and Danielle Romano; and two great-grandchildren, Arianna Masella and Connor Trevor as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Betty's love for family was evident in everything she did. As a young widow, she raised her four daughters to be loving and exceptional women. Active in grassroots politics for many decades, Betty also passed this love onto her children. Love of family was the most important lesson she imparted to her daughters. She will be remembered for her quick wit, intelligence, and compassion for others.
