Betty Jean, "Hi Hi" (Fleming) Hyatt died peacefully in her home on July 23, 2016, in Leesburg, VA, at the age of 81. She was preceded in death by her young children David Wayne Hyatt (Jan 31, 1961 -Feb 2, 1961) and Lori Jean Hyatt (June 14, 1962 - December 31, 1962).
Betty Jean is survived by her husband, Daniel M. Hyatt; children, Tammy Jean Ellmore (of Boyce, VA) and Daniel Wayne Hyatt (of Winchester, VA), his wife Angela Kay (Holbrook) Hyatt along with two grandchildren David William (7 years) and Kaitlyn Elizabeth (4 years) whom she loved and adored.
Betty Jean was born on January 3, 1935 in Leesburg, VA, to Jack West Fleming Sr. and Edith Elizabeth (Kirkpatrick) Fleming. Betty Jean graduated from Lincoln High School in 1953. She married Daniel M. Hyatt, in December 1953.
Over their 62 year marriage the couple raised two children to adulthood. The children remember their mother as a loving and supportive woman who encouraged them to pursue their dreams.
Betty Jean was a child care provider for over 40 years and her charges lovingly called her "Hi Hi". She loved taking care of and preparing the children in her charge for school and life beyond her care. She enjoyed taking care of her charges, canning, baking,
traveling, and camping with her family.
A funeral is scheduled for 11:00 am on Friday, July 29, 2016 at Colonial Funeral Home in Leesburg, VA. with a reception to follow at Leesburg Fire Hall. Pastor Glenn Hughes of Staunton,
VA. will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Betty's life.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 28, 2016 between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Road NE, Leesburg, Virginia 20176. Funeral Services are scheduled for Friday, July 28, 2016 starting at 11:00 am at Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Leesburg, Virginia.
