Bobby Wayne Jones, 82, of Vinita Oklahoma, passed away on February 2, 2009. At the time of his death, Mr. Jones was living in Leesburg, Virginia.
He was born on March 19, 1926 in Coffeyville, Kansas to the late Oval C. and Minie H. (Stewart) Jones. Mr. Jones is survived by his daughter, BarbarA Ann wilson of Leesburg, Virginia.
Mr. Jones spent his adult life proudly serving his country holding the rank of Sargeant First Class in the United States Army. He served from 1944 to the time of his retirement in 1975. During his enlistment period Mr. Jones fought in the WWII, Korean and Vietnam Wars.
For his Patriotic Duty he received many medals which included Combat Infantryman Badge; Korean Service Medal; United Nations Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Silver & 1 Bronze Service Stars; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; Purple Heart; Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea); National Defense Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster; Good Conduct Medal Clasp, Bronze, 5 Loops; Army Commendation Medal; World War II Victory Medal; European-African-Middle Easter Campaign Medal; Army Occupation Medal (Germany); and the Army Occupation Medal.
In honor of his life a service will be held on May 11, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. in the Arlington National Cemetery.
