A loving husband, a wonderful father, a very caring brother, and a great friend to all that knew him; Bill Stuckey passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2010. Bill, 81, lived in Leesburg, Virginia.
Born in Kiblah, Arkansas on October 21, 1929, he was the son of John Virgil and Lois I. (Smith) Stuckey. He was later married to his wife, Lottie, and they were blessed with a daughter, Linda.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy.
Bill enjoyed the opportunites which Mobil Oil offered throughout his 35 years of dedicated service, especially his time spent in Indonesia. He acquired a love for travel during his professional career. Through business and pleasure, he traveled extensively worldwide; including Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. Bill was also an avid reader. He found a special interest in personal finance, politics, and always remained current with national and local events. Bill often spoke of his love for the church, and in the past, was a decon. He is currently a member of the Leesburg Baptist Church. On Sunday afternoons, following church service or bible study, he could be found in front of the TV enjoying a game of football with Lottie.
Bill Stuckey will be sadly missed by his wife, Lottie Mae Stuckey; daughter, Linda M. Zilles and her husband Mic of Leesburg; brothers, John Ray Stuckey of Wagner, Oklahoma and Tom Charles Stuckey of Annapolis, Maryland; and his sister, Ruth Johns of Georgetown, Texas.
Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd, NE, Leesburg, VA 20176 on Thursday, December 9, 2010 between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, December 10, 2010 starting at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Allan Stanford of the Leesburg Baptist Church will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Union Cemetery, Leesburg, VA.
