Blas Martinez, Jr., age 94, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2024, with his beloved family, wife Gloria, daughter Michelle M. Klemencic (Joe), and his beloved grandson Jackson by his side.

Blas was born on 22 July 1929 near San Antonio, TX.  He proudly served in the Army Air Corps and U.S. Air Force for over 20 years.  After an honorable discharge and retirement in 1967, he then began his second career and served another 20 years with the Department of Justice as a Border Patrol officer.  After retirement from the Department of Justice, he then began a third career with the State of VA and retired after 10 more years. In March of 1975, he met the love of his life, Gloria Rivera and married July 26, 1976, having two children together, Blasito III and Michelle.

Blas enjoyed spending time with his wife and his daughter's family the most after retirement.  He will be deeply missed by his family and friends and all who knew him. Blas was a kind and honorable man, most proud of his family he created with Gloria.

He is survived by his siblings Rudy Martinez, Joe Martinez, and Hope Gonzalez and other children Jon Martinez, Marisa Jean Bernard, Margie Martinez, Patricia Van Brusselen, and Lorena Mathis.  A private memorial will be held by his family.
