Obituary

Bonnie S. McGinley 82, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014 surrounded by family at her home in Lovettsville, VA. She was born in Lincolnton, NC on February 16, 1932 one of 8 daughters and 1 brother to parents Clarence and Ada Mundy

Left behind to cherish her memories are her husband John F. McGinley Sr. of 14 years and her 3 daughters from her 34 year marriage to her deceased husband Ramon J. Pike. Donna Pike of Lothian, MD, Abby Thursby of Ashburn, VA and Liz Frazier of Fairfax Station , VA and her 4 grandchildren whom she cherished dearly, Heather Simpson, Ryan Thursby, Brent and Tyler Frazier.

Bonnie is also survived by her 4 sisters, MaryAnn Bridges of NC, Yvonne Patterson of TX, Patsy Bird of SC and Glenda Diaz of FL.

Bonnie was a devoted wife , loving mother and beloved grandmother. Her sense of humor was unparalleled, and she will forever be known as a pure quiet soul who brought beauty to the world. She loved being a mom and when she was not working she enjoyed being a homemaker and sewing for her girls, or working on her art; sketching animals and creating oil paintings of peaceful landscapes. Bonnie owned and ran an Art Gallery in Charlotte, NC with Ramon. She also did many other exciting things in her life such as traveling, boating, flying, horses and even motorcycles. She also helped Ramon run a NASCAR business in the early 70's. In her later years, she enjoyed traveling to Myrtle Beach, Atlantic City and Pennsylvania where she visited the Casino's and could always be found winning at the slots.

Her life will be honored on Saturday, April 19, 2014 @ 11:00am at the Colonial Funeral Home , 201 Edwards Ferry Rd NE, Leesburg, VA. Friends and Family may visit with the family at 10:00 am prior to the service . Following the Memorial service, her husband will host a Celebration of her life at the Loudoun Golf & Country Club, 36967 W Main Street, Purcellville, VA.
