IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bryan F.
Younger
August 26, 1983 – March 23, 2022
Bryan F. Younger was born in Chile on August 26,1983. "Humble with a gentle and great heart" was a common description of Bryan, and he valued sharing a joke, a beer, or his time with those he held dear to him. Bryan passed away peacefully at his home in Purcellville, Virginia, on March 23, 2022. In his youth, Bryan enjoyed playing with his neighborhood friends; playing drums and marching in parades with the Northern Virginia Patriots Marching Band; participating in Boy Scout activities, including an especially memorable backpacking trek in Philmont, New Mexico; and listening to a wide range of music, from rap to smooth jazz. He enjoyed playing in the band at Jeb Stuart (now Justice) High School in Falls Church, Virginia, and making friends with people from different backgrounds and countries. He loved his first car, a Mustang Cobra, and he took pride in his first job in the paint department at Home Depot, which he succeeded at in spite of being color blind and having only partial vision in one eye! He enjoyed gatherings of friends and family at Lake Anna and at Kitty Hawk. He also enjoyed trips to the Florida Keys to scuba dive as well as two trips he described as "once in a lifetime" trips - to Chile and to Thailand. But his biggest passion was brewing, which he fell in love with as a hobby and managed to make into his life-long career, first as an Assistant Brewer and then as the Head Brewer, for Adroit Theory Brewing Company in Purcellville, Virginia.
Above all what he valued most was family, and Bryan was blessed with two, his Chilean birth family and his adoptive American family. He is survived by his adoptive parents, Caroline (Carrie) Pruitt Younger and George E. Younger, and by his sister, Jamie Younger Esteves and his extended American family and by his biological mother and sister, Haydee and Carla, and his extended Chilean family. He also leaves behind his precious German Shepherd, Samantha. Those who knew him well, know that Bryan was not fond of formal events, much preferring casual gatherings of friends and family. Accordingly, no formal funeral is planned. Instead, a casual gathering of family, friends, and co-workers is planned at Adroit Theory Brewing Company sometime over the Memorial Day Weekend. More details will be provided in the near future. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Bryan's memory be made to:
