IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bryant
Slimp
July 19, 1978 – January 22, 2023
Bryant Slimp passed away suddenly on January 22, 2023 at the age of 44.
Bryant is survived by his wife, Emilene, and his children — Gabe (23) and Jackson (1) — the loves of his life. In addition, he is survived by his father, Col. Jack B. Slimp Jr.; his sisters Heather Fleury and husband Tony, Holly Caraballo and husband Jimmy, Laura Hutton and husband Ryan; and his brother Mark Slimp and wife Megan. Preceded in death by his mother, Kaye Slimp, the family takes comfort in their heavenly reunion.
Bryant was born in Fairfax, VA on July 19, 1978 and was raised in Manassas. He studied IT Network Engineering at Northern Virginia Community College and worked predominantly in that field, most recently with Amazon Web Services. Over the years his job led him to California, Pennsylvania and back to Virginia. He was a strong support during his mother's battle with cancer, up until her passing in the fall of 2020. Prior to that in May, he joyously married his wife, Emi, and announced their pregnancy that summer.
Bryant was a beloved and loyal husband, father, brother, son, uncle and friend. He was kindhearted and generous, frequently volunteering his time at church and The Lamb Center; a faithful believer in Jesus Christ; great cook who always made enough to share; passionate Dallas Cowboys and Texas A&M football fan; music lover with unfortunate rhythm; animal lover; a mountain biking enthusiast who also enjoyed water skiing and snowboarding; team player with strong work ethic; friendly but tenacious debater; always apt to share a drink, play a game, and enjoy a laugh. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will take place at Reston Bible Church in Sterling, VA on Friday, February 3rd at 1pm with a reception to follow between 2pm-3:30pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider supporting Bryant's widow and young child with a monetary donation via GoFundMe.
