Calvin Dean Hendricks was born on September 15, 1966 in Enfield, North Carolina. He was the youngest child of the late Cora Lee and John Henry Hendricks.
He was raised in Enfield, North Carolina and educated in the Halifax County Public School System.
Affectionately known as one half of the "Tarheel Travelers", Calvin enjoyed cooking, fishing, hunting, collecting vintage cars, cruising on his beloved vintage Harley Davidson, riding his horse June and listening to Southern Soul music.
Prior to his illness, he was the owner/operator of Renay's Trucking.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother, Donnell Hendricks and sister Deborah Ward.
He leaves to celebrate his life with cherished memories, his loving wife of 26 years, Sharlice, three sons, Kevin Hendricks (Yami) of Martinsburg, West Virginia, Roland Pollard, Jr (Brandy) of Richmond, Virginia, Marek Pollard of Charles Town, West Virginia, Resean Pollard of Clarksburg, West Virginia and one daughter, Ebbony Pollard of Dundalk, Maryland.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Austin, Zavier, Kevin Jr, Aliyah, Kaelynn, Zoey, and Kyrie. Four sisters, Dianne Bailey (Authur) of Herndon, Virginia, Everlyn Hendricks of Battleboro, North Carolina, Carolyn Hendricks of Enfield, North Carolina and Alfreda Sparks (John) of Marion, South Carolina. Four brothers, Ronnie Hendricks (Jeanette) of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, R. Dewayne Hendricks (Twyla) of Lovettesville, Virginia, John Hendricks and Maurice Hendricks, both of Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Three sister-in-laws, Tonjua Caxson (Sterling) of Severn, Maryland and Tejuollia Taylor (Rick) Clarksburg, Maryland, Veena Lee of Martinsburg, West Virginia and one brother-in-law Alvin Taylor of Chesapeake, Virginia. Three aunts, Mary Wilkins, Daisy Hedgepeth and Delois Britt, all of Enfield, North Carolina and host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd., NE., Leesburg, VA 20176 where a service will begin at 1:00 pm.
