Carla Lynne Heit of Hedgesville, WV passed away on Monday October 18, 2021, at WVU Hospital Martinsburg, WV.

Carla was born on December 9, 1948 in Independence, KS and was a daughter of the late Carl Pitts (Father), Elizabeth Grace Pitts (Mother) and Step-Mother Ruth Masters.  Carla was also preceded in death by her late husband Ronald Woodruff, step-grandson Tyler Moore and step-son Leslie Woodruff.

Carla is survived by her husband of 17 years, Brace Heit.  One son, Klayton (Debra) Lambert of Harpers Ferry, WV, step-children Anna Bjerke (John), Stephanie Howsare and Melissa Menacher, one sister, Carrie Ann Olson (Donald) of Montross, VA; Nephew Keith (Kellie) Watson of El Mirage, AZ.  7 step grandchildren and 12 step great grandchildren, with numerous nieces and nephews.

Early in her career Carla worked at NASA, and ultimately retired from the Virginia Employment Commission in 1990.  Carla also worked as the Church Secretary for the Leesburg United Methodist Church from 1999-2004.  Carla was a member of Leesburg United Methodist Church and most recently Bunker Hill United Methodist Church.

Carla will be missed by her family and friends.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd., NE., Leesburg, VA 20176 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm followed by a service at 12:00 pm.  Interment will follow at Union Cemetery.
