Carlton Franklin Swart, 66, of Aldie, VA and a lifelong resident of Loudoun County passed away on February 5, 2010 while staying at College View Nursing Home in Frederick, Maryland. He was born in Loudoun County, VA on March 26, 1943 to Mildred (Webley) and Benjamin Franklin Swart, Jr.
Carlton was self-employed for over 25 years, operating Gilberts Corner Exxon Station (at the intersection of Routes 15 & 50) and Carlton F. Swart Trucking where he operated both long distance tractor-trailer hauling and local dump truck hauling. In the late 1960s and 70s, Carlton could be found on Saturdays at the drag races where he raced his 1968 Camero. He was a fan of Nascar, baseball and football. But his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his grandchildren.
Carlton is survived by his wife of 46 years, Shirley S. Swart; children Cheryl Kirkpatrick of Leesburg, VA and Frank Swart of Lovettsville, VA; 5 grandchildren, Stephanie Austin, Rachel, and Kristen Kirkpatrick and Amanda Swart; mother Mildred Swart of Appomattox, VA; and sisters Marie Wright of York, PA and Beverly Carroll of Appomattox, VA. He was predeceased by father Benjamin Swart, Jr.

A service to follow at 1:00 pm. Burial following service in Union Cemetery, Leesburg.
