t is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Carol Ann Slaughter Blake, who left us peacefully on May 24, 2025, at the age of 80, while residing in Aldie, Virginia.
Born on August 22, 1944 in Albany, Georgia, she was the daughter of Gano Slaughter and Cathalene Giles Slaughter. Carol lived a life full of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family. She touched the lives of everyone she met with her feisty spirit, warm heart, and quiet strength.
She was a loving mother, proud grandmother, and a cherished sister, aunt, and mother-in-law. She was an avid reader and her joy was found in spoiling her grandchildren and beloved pets.
Carol is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Pamela (Ron) and Cathalene (Bob); her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Blake and Sean; her devoted French Bulldog, Meeko; and many nieces and nephews.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Gano Slaughter and Cathalene Giles Slaughter, and her siblings, Gano Slaughter, Hazel Slaughter Pulver, Ramon Slaughter, Russell Slaughter, and William Slaughter.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 9, 2025 at Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg, VA at 3:00 pm. There will be visitation available with the family from 2:00-3:00 pm prior to the service. The family invites those who knew her to join in remembering and celebrating her life.
