On June 18, 2013, Carole May Rothman passed away after a lengthy illness. Carole was born on February 6, 1942 in New York, NY to the late Nathan and Edith Kresel. A native of Brooklyn, NY, Carole was a world traveler, living in Queens, NY; Baltimore, MD; Ormond Beach, FL; Nice, France; West Palm Beach, FL; and finally, Ashburn, VA.
Carole touched the lives of all who knew her, as a giving and loving mom, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She adored her family, generously gave all that she could, and expected nothing in return. Her love and concern were felt by all who knew her.
Carole was a business woman, owning and operating her own businesses and practices, culminating as a Travel Agent. Her specialty and passion was cruising, organizing large group excursions, where she led her clients on adventures of a lifetime. She cruised all over the world, seeing every place she ever dreamed of seeing.
Carole was pre-deceased by her beloved husband Irving Rothman. Her memory will forever be cherished by her three children, Jeffrey Powell, Penni Bawdon, and Sharon Powell, her daughter-in-law Geri Powell, her grandchildren, Christopher Keeney, Andrew Powell, Ryan Powell, Logan Powell, and Nathaniel Lang, her siblings, Barbara Gardetz and Mark Kresel (Robin), her nieces, and her constant companion, Pepper.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg, VA between the hours of 3 pm and 5 pm on Friday June 21st. Service will be held at 5 pm followed by a celebration of her life at Jeff and Geri's home at 21497 Hearthstone Ct., Ashburn, VA. Burial will take place at New Montefiore Cemetery in West Bablylon, NY on Sunday, June 23, 2013.
