Christopher Bruce Holtzman of Leesburg, Virginia was called home on July 8, 2026 after a long battle with cancer. Christopher was born on September 30, 1975 in Washington, DC to Norman Bruce and Elaine Ann (Kleinschuster) Holtzman.
Christopher graduated from South River High School in Edgewater, MD in 1994. He received a B.S. in Aviation Computer Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 1999 and a Masters of Engineering Management from The George Washington University in 2007. After graduating from college, he worked for Lockheed Martin for a few years before taking a job with the Federal Government. He had a successful career, finishing as a senior executive, with 25 years of service.
His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he was passionate about serving others at work and in his community. He was kind and compassionate to everyone he met and helped others in any way he could. He was a member of King’s Cross Church and served as a deacon, an elder, and a teacher of the youth communicants’ class. He volunteered as a leader for Awana, a Christian discipleship program, in his son’s group for several years.
He also enjoyed several hobbies. He obtained his private pilot’s license when he was in high school, collected Lionel model trains, and attended train shows into adulthood. Most of all, he was a car guy who loved antique cars, particularly classic muscle cars. He enjoyed visiting car shows every summer with his father and son.
He is survived by his loving wife, Amy Kristin (Harvey) Holtzman; children, Matthew and Caroline Holtzman; parents, Norman Bruce and Elaine Ann Holtzman; sister, Elizabeth Ann Holtzman; brother-in-law, Eric Harvey and wife Kristin; aunts and uncles, Robert and Mary Jane Rutman, Jacob and Deborah Kleinschuster; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family wishes to thank INOVA Schar Cancer Institute, Johns Hopkins Medicine, and Blue Ridge Care for their compassionate care and support. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to King’s Cross Church or American Brain Tumor Association.
The funeral service will be held at McLean Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, July 21, at 11:30 am. A reception will follow the service. A private burial will be held at Ebenezer Cemetery in Bluemont on Wednesday, July 22.
