15 December 1986 – 10 June 2018
Christopher J. Wechgelaer passed away on 10 June 2018. He is survived by his mother, Jillian; two aunts, Cindy and Lisa; two uncles Scott and Chuck; his stepfather, Glenn; two stepbrothers, Ian and Steven and his beloved dog, Megs.
Chris worked various jobs throughout his life until he enlisted in the U.S. Army and trained as an Army Ranger. He was stationed at Fort Benning, GA in the 75 th Ranger Regiment. He earned his Ranger Tab and served three combat tours, earning a Combat Infantryman's Badge and an Army Achievement Medal. After serving his country, he studied and trained as a CrossFit Coach, becoming certified as a coach and also earning certificates in several other aspects in the CrossFit arena. He was loved and respected as a coach, encouraging all athletes to do the best that they could and when they reached that point, to do just "one more" until they beat their own personal best even if it was by just one more. He had a quiet magnetism that drew people and animals alike to him and, he could relate to anyone and talk with anyone on just about anything. He was a beautiful, brilliant, funny, mischievous, and charming young man. A loving and beloved warrior son who died way too soon. His absence in this world, left a very large hole that no one can fill.
He is interred at Quantico National Cemetery.
