Obituary
Clayton G. Polen, born April 7, 1928 in Ashburn, VA passed away on December 10, 2010.
He was a life long resident of the Ashburn area, and dairy farmer for over 50 years.
He was predeceased in death by his parents, Collis and Sarah Polen, as well as his son, Allen Brian Polen.
He is survived by his wife, Edith Polen, of 52 years of marriage as well as one son, Donald Glen Polen of Leesburg, and grandchildren Adam Polen, Donald Polen II, Christie Polen and Caleb Polen all of Leesburg, Virginia.
Mr. Polen was a life long active member of the Mount Hope Church and known to many as the official greeter of the church. He was also an honorary member of the Ashburn Volunteer Fire & Rescue.
A time of visitation will be held at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd, NE, Leesburg, VA 20176 on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at the funeral home starting at 11:00 a.m. Interment to be held in the Union Cemetery, Leesburg, VA.
The family is requesting in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to either the Mount Hope Baptist Building Fund, 42507 Mount Hope Rd, Ashburn, VA 20147 or to the Ashburn Volunteer Fire & Rescue, 20688 Ashburn Rd, Ashburn, VA 20147.
