Obituary
Clyde Herman Mann, aged 83, passed away suddenly January 26, 2016 at his home in Fairfax Station Virginia.
Clyde was born in Gates City, Virginia on July 7, 1932 and later moved with his parents, Anna Mae Mann and Claude Dexter Estep, to Elizabethton, TN. He attended Elizabethton High School and graduated from East Tennessee State University in 1956. He was in the marching band, which he enjoyed immensely but often regretted his choice of instrument, the tuba, particularly during parades. After college he was drafted into the Army, which brought him to the Washington DC area. While in the Army, Clyde met Patricia Hawkins, whom he later wed in Rockville, Maryland. They bought a house in Alexandria, later moved to Springfield and eventually settled in Fairfax, Station. Clyde had a thirst for knowledge, enjoyed traveling throughout the world with good friends and loved working in the garden. He was a devout follower of Christ and loved nothing better than to share his faith with others.
Clyde is survived by his son Douglas A. Mann (Katharine) of Springfield, grandchildren Jessica W Mann and Charles L Mann and his treasured companion of many years, Homa Anderson.
A Memorial service will be held at New Hope Church in Lorton Virginia on February 20th at 11:00 am.

Clyde worked for NASA, Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt Maryland for several years as a contract specialist. In 1967 he then moved to NAVAIR as a contract specialist until his retirement as a Senior Policy Analyst for Field Oversight and Procurement Management.
Clyde was preceded in death by his beloved wife Patricia Ann Mann of 46 years and his parents.
