She loved caring for the family's pets, including their current rescued German Shepherd mix Bear, and previous dogs George and Bosley.

As a child she liked Girl Scouts, reading Nancy Drew mysteries and attending camp Ho Mita Koda in Ohio during the summers.

She was active in school extracurricular activities at Parkside Junior High in Westlake Ohio and was elected class secretary, and secretary of student council.

During her years at Penn State, she enjoyed the big college atmosphere, being with friends, and living in her little apartment in an old Victorian home.

In her career as a teacher she taught a variety of ages, and helped chaperone trips to Spain.

Colette and Bill's daughter Kristen brought her great joy. Colette was a Girl Scout leader for Kristen's troop for 9 years. She was the most ready to help out in any parent function most recently being a SBHS Band Parent. Kristen and Colette enjoyed scrapbooking together.

Colette, Bill, and Kristen liked trips to Disney World and relaxing in the cabin in the park at Virginia Beach.
