Obituary

Connie Rose Glembot of Leesburg, VA passed away on August 27, 2008 at the age of 93.

She was born on May 4, 1915 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania.

She was known to many as a homemaker and wife of the late Leon Martin Glembot. But Mrs. Glembot, being quite a unique lady, was truly a legend in her own time. She became quite active in the art of Judo. By her mid fifties, she honorably held the third highest Black Belt in the United States. Mrs. Glembot went on to teach woman's judo in preparation for the women's olympic teams from 1976 through the mid 1990's. She volunteered as a Gray Lady with the Red Cross and was strongly active in the Eastern Star.

She lovingly leaves behind her sons; Ray Martin Glembot of Leesburg, VA and Lee Z. Glembot of Bowie, Md., three grandchildren; Troy Glembot of Winchester, VA, Connie Fravel of Strasburg, VA and Cathy Andrews of Virginia Beach, VA and 4 great grandchildren.

All services will be private.

Memorial donations may be sent to Shriners Hospital, Kena Shriners, P.O. Box 456, Merrifield, VA 22116 or the USO by calling 800-876-7469.
