Obituary

Daniel Michael Brier passed peacefully in his sleep on March 2, 2024. Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania on October 18, 1943, he lived to be 80. Dan was cherished by his wife of 56 years, Sue Ann Levis, his three children Jennifer Lofquist (James) of Leesburg, Virginia; Adam Brier of Greenville, North Carolina; and Kristen Mayer (Dennis) of South Riding, Virginia; and his grandchildren Kellie, Jackson, Susannah, Olivia, William, and Charles. Dan was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Elizabeth Brier, who raised him alongside his siblings Tommy, Nancy and Sharon, placing a strong value on family connections, education, and instilling a love of music.

Dan graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Scranton and received his Master's in Business Administration from the George Washington University. He worked for the U.S. General Accounting Office in Washington, D.C. for 33 years, retiring in 2001.
Dan loved to laugh. He was the life of the party and the ultimate prankster, leaving behind endless stories about his antics. His grandchildren were a special source of joy. Dan took incredible pride in their careers, education, and interests.
