Obituary

Daniel Thomas Fleming passed away June 5, 2022 with his soulmate, Pamela by his side, after a long, fierce battle with COPD.

Born in Brooklyn, New York on May 29, 1950, Daniel and family lived in New Jersey, Florida and California before settling in Herndon, Virginia in May, 2000 where he retired from Northrop Grumman in 2018.

Shortly after turning 18, Daniel signed up for the US Navy, and was deployed to Viet Nam where he transported Marines along the Da Nang River.
Not long after he was honorably discharged as a Second-Class Petty Officer from the Navy, he married his childhood sweetheart Pamela. He pursued a degree as a Network Engineer, a career which took him all over the world.

Daniel had many interests hiking, travelling, nature, swimming, carpentry and most of all music. In addition to guitar and drums, he was an accomplished upright Bass player and spent many hours jamming with friends and family. His love of carpentry showed in all his projects from crafting his daughter's cradle, to creating beautiful furniture pieces and a deck for his home. He also loved to cook and was known for his delicious barbeques.

Daniel never lost his wry sense of humor, and continued to make jokes up until his final days.
Anyone who was acquainted with Daniel knew him to be a devoted, loving and loyal husband, father, uncle, in-law and friend. He could be counted on to help anyone in need even at personal sacrifice.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Pamela, two devoted daughters Dana and Lana and their spouses, along with his three grandchildren whom he loved beyond measure, Heathcliff, Olivia and Helen. He is also survived by his adoring mother-in-law Helen, his brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, grand-nephews and nieces, cousins and dear friends.

While the funeral and burial are private, friends are welcome to join in a virtual celebration of life which will be held after his interment at Quantico National Cemetery. An Evite will be sent shortly.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the COPD Foundation, 3300 Ponce De Leon Blvd, Miami FL 33134; email- donations@copdfoundation.org.
