Daniel L. Saxby
Daniel L. Saxby, 63, of Sterling VA, passed away on June 11, with his beloved wife, Gwen at his side. He fought a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer before being called home to be with the Lord. Dan was born in Waynesboro, PA to Richard and Irene Saxby. He was a graduate of Bethlehem Center High School and Penn State University. He was a member of Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity and served as President for 2 terms. Dan achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and went on to serve as a Scoutmaster where he helped many others to become Eagle Scouts. Dan served in the U.S. Air Force from 1975-1979. Dan was an amazing husband, father, brother and friend. A Life Member of the Penn State Alumni Association and an honorary coach of the Penn State Nittany Lion Club, Dan was passionate about tailgating at Penn State home football games. Dan's themed tailgates were legendary among friends and PSU students. Dan lived his life like the Eagle Scout he was, always prepared, loyal, cheerful, and kind.
