Darcie Valliere Santoro, age 34 - The light of her parents' lives, was born on February 14, Valentine's Day, in Dover, New Hampshire, passed away on January 9, 2016.
Darcie is the daughter of Irene (Abbott) and George LaBranche, Aldie, Virginia, and Peter Valliere, Kissimmee, Florida. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Edward Santoro, and two beloved children, the loves of her life, Kylie and Gavin Santoro, all of Leesburg; her siblings, Jeffrey (Allison) Valliere, Louisville, CO; Gregory Valliere and Sarah Valliere, Kissimmee, Florida, aunts, uncles, cousins and twin nieces, Amelie and Isabelle Valliere.
Darcie attended Newmarket, NH, Elementary School prior to moving to Virginia in 1991. She graduated from Centreville High School, Gibbs Business School, and Strayer University. Ambitious, eager to learn, possessing the highest enthusiasm for life, and to discover life's offerings. Darcie worked in business administrative positions and was a certified personal fitness trainer in local area health clubs.
Darcie and her family loved spending summer vacations at the Outer Banks. She was an ardent exercise enthusiast and most proud of climbing her first 14'er in Colorado with her big brother, Jeff. She was an ardent Redskins fan and enjoyed watching and attending Redskins games with her family and her brother, Greg. She will be sorely missed by her family, friends, and relatives.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Road, NE, Leesburg VA 20176. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, January 15, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. St. Theresa Catholic Church 21371 St. Theresa Lane Ashburn, VA 20147
A memorial foundation is being established in her name benefitting acute myeloid leukemia research. Details will be posted at a later date.
An internment burial service will take place in the spring in Newmarket, NH.
