David Lawrence Krieger

December 25, 1943 – February 13, 2025

David Lawrence Krieger passed away surrounded by family on February 13, 2025, at the age of 81, at Inova Hospital in Leesburg, Virginia. Born on December 25, 1943, David grew up in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania, where he attended both primary and high school before earning his bachelor's degree from Clarion University.

David began his banking career at WPNB, which later became Equibank. In 1983, he moved his family to Indiana, Pennsylvania, where he joined S&T Bank and ascended to the role of Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Commercial Lending. Throughout his career David formed deep and lasting friendships with co-workers and customers and was known for personal service and getting things done.   After a distinguished career, he retired to Duck, North Carolina, where he enjoyed his time with family and friends and his beloved cavapoo, Miss Addie.

A man who cherished his family deeply, David is survived by his loving wife, Donna Mastrogiacomo Krieger; his daughter, Jennifer Hisel; his son, David J. Krieger and his wife Jenna; his five grandchildren; Kasey Hughes, Kristopher Hughes, Sydney Krieger, Ryan Krieger, and Khloe Hisel.  David is also survived by his brother, Ronald Krieger and his wife Janet; and his in-laws, Carol Krieger, John Mastrogiacomo, Ted Masters, Mark and Judy Mastrogiacomo and Chris and Mary Mastrogiacomo.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Agnes Krieger, as well as his brothers, Paul and Gary Krieger.

David was known for his love of running and working out, maintaining an active lifestyle throughout his life. He was also a lifelong Pittsburgh Steeler fan and was fortunate enough to witness the last two Super Bowl wins in person.   In his earlier life, David enjoyed hunting and fishing and taking outdoor trips with his brothers.   Nothing however, brought "PapPap" more joy than watching his grandchildren grow up and giving them sage advice for every success and failure.

A small family celebration of life will be held to honor David. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Outer Banks Health Cowell Cancer Center, Cancer Care, at 4927 S. Croatan Highway, Nags Head, NC 27959, in memory of David Krieger. His legacy of kindness, dedication, and community spirit will be remembered by all who knew him.
