Obituary
David A. Miles passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015. David was 58 years old. Born in Alexandria, Virginia on May 5, 1956, he was the proud and loving son of Jerry and Lou Miles. A graduate of Woodson High School, class of 1974, in Fairfax County, Virginia. David went on to further his education at Virginia Tech; graduating in 1978 with degrees in Horticulture and Landscaping Design. After graduation he was employed at TruGreen/ChemLawn Company. David was most recently employed with the Hatchik Supply Company.
David loved the art of tinkering. Quite the handyman, David could be called upon to fix just about anything. He loved nature and especially the beach. He was a member of the St. Frances De Sales Catholic Church. He was also a member of the St. Francis Council of the Knights of Columbus, where he served as Grand Knight for 3 years, and of Pope John Paul II Assembly of the Knights of Columbus.
While he will be dearly missed, his memories will be cherished in the hearts and lives of everyone who was blessed to have known him.
Those he leaves behind include his wife of 22 years, Phyllis; children Heather Miles, Brittany Miles and Andrew Miles; grandchildren Addison and Alexandra; parents Jerry and Lou Miles; brothers Thomas Miles and Stephen Miles; sisters Kerry Topel, Ann Taylor and Sheila Brydges; numerous nieces and nephews as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of remembrance between the hours of 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd NE, Leesburg, Virginia 20176. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:30 am on Monday, January 19, 2015 at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 37730 Saint Francis Court, Purcellville, VA 20132. Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery, Hillsboro, Virginia.
