David William Young, Sr., age 82, of Leesburg, Virginia passed away on April 11, 2025 at Hessler Heights Independent Living Facility in Leesburg. He was born September 7, 1942 in Bennettsville, SC to his parents, Manly and Alice Young. Upon graduating from high school, David joined the Navy where he served for seven years, after which he began his government career as a Security Specialist. His last position was at the Office of Naval Intelligence in Suitland, MD where he organized and supervised the police force.

David and his beloved wife, Primilla were married in August 1965 and were blessed with 59 years of a loving marriage. He leaves behind two children – David, Jr (Christy) and Kevin (Karen); 7 grandchildren, and one great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his father, Manly Young; his mother, Alice Young; and his sister, Carol St Clair. He is survived by his wife, Primilla; his sons, David Jr (Christy) and Kevin; his sister, Judith Adeimy of Hamlet, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

David loved people and he used that talent as he served as a volunteer at Mary Washington Hospital, Stafford Hospital, and as a Hospice volunteer. David served his local church wherever he was living by singing in the choir, teaching Sunday school, or serving on the governing board of the church.

David was an avid NASCAR fan and every August it was NASCAR at his home. He also enjoyed music – from country to good old gospel. Recently moving to Hessler Heights David quickly came to enjoy the community where he was loved and enjoyed. He was known for his love of ice cream and always wearing a hat.

A service will be held on Friday, April 25 at 11:00 AM at Summit Presbyterian Church, Stafford, VA. Internment will be on Friday, April 25 2:30 PM at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, VA.
