Denise Migliara, 74, of Hamilton, Virginia, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 28, 2016. Denise was born on February 21, 1942, in Dover, New Jersey, daughter of Frank and Evelyn (Flaherty) Delaney. Denise is survived by her loving sons, Jonathan Migliara, of Falling Waters, West Virginia, Jeremy Migliara and daughter-in-law Jessica Mills, of Reston, Virginia, Lee Manning, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, and two grandchildren, Nicholas and Gabrielle Migliara of Reston, Virginia. She is also survived by her sister, Patricia Aldredge of Milford, Pennsylvania, and two brothers, Frank Delaney of Naples, Florida and Peter Delaney of Emerald Isle, North Carolina.
Denise grew up in Boonton Township, New Jersey, and attended high school at Bayley-Ellard High School in Madison, New Jersey. She received a bachelor's degree, graduating with honors, from Caldwell University (formerly known as the Caldwell College for Women). Denise spent her entire career as an elementary school teacher, primarily at Banneker Elementary School in Middleburg, Virginia, where she taught students in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Denise's life at 11 a.m., Friday, October 7, at Floris United Methodist Church in Herndon, Virginia.
